Official Rules and Guidelines

NOTICE:
If you don’t agree with this rules you are free to leave. When breaking the below rules you will receive a warning, but that is not mandatory. You can be permanently banned or temporarily banned regardless of which admin sees your post(s).

Note: Only administrators can ban. Moderators bring the violating content/user to the attention of the admins.

Instant Bans
If you break these rules, you'll earn an instant ban regardless of which moderator sees the post(s).

• Found to be a minor on Darknest (i.e.: younger than 18 years old).

o The standing law in Canada (where the Darknest is hosted) states that one must be 18+ years of age to view pornography.

• Impersonating Administrators, Moderators, or Darknest regulars.

• Posting content that contains under aged people/characters.

o This means that all characters must be the equivalent of 18+ years of age to real life standards, both mentally and physically. All art and stories must clearly state the character(s) are adults if they are in a sexual situation.

• Spamming the board with advertisements, viruses, or linking to malicious sites

• Heavy harassing of users/moderators/administrators.

• Spamming PMs to random people on the forums/chat (which falls under the Heavy harassing rule listed above).

o This specifically refers to, but not limited to, people mass PMing random people for ERP when said contacts do not have an ad up in Classifieds and generally are not looking for (E)RP in general. Don't be a fucking creep.

• Ban evasion. If you were banned once don’t think we won’t ban you again if you create another account.

• Attempting to smartass your way around these rules.


General Rules
If you break these rules, you'll earn a warning or a temporary ban regardless of which moderator sees the post(s).

• Read/search before you post. See if someone is talking about your subject first before creating a new topic.

• No Trolling/flaming/baiting/harassing. We don’t want fights, even if you didn’t start it.

• English only. We don’t want people to exclude others since the majority read English.

• No Multiple accounts. This prevents people from creating a false image of themselves on the board.

• No Harassing moderators/administrators, especially in public. Take it to PMs

• No Posting in ALL CAPS. This is like shouting at people on the internet.

• NO Discussion of private servers. We don’t want the negative attention that could come with it. Private servers are banned by Blizzard so we don’t advertise them here.

• Going excessively off-topic. Some have a bad habit of doing this far too much. Please keep the truly random stuff to the Random sticky

• Caution on Bumping. If people are interested they will post. Booty Bay has an exception, see below.

• Use the stickies. We have stickied topics for requests and for looking for artists/authors works.

• Caution on Colored fonts. Having a few words here and there colored are fine, but don’t go overboard. Don’t want to see giant pink posts everywhere.

• Label your work. For the Art/Story/Screenshot board your work must have tags for gender pairings, races and kinks! Use the Tag field.

• No Cam-whoring or Posting Nudes - There is to be no advertising of webcams or posting nudes of yourself on the forums or in chat for the purpose of showing oneself in any sexual manner. Sexual manner includes such things like posing nude, flaunting ass/boobs/genitals, sexual acts like masturbating, etc. This attracts unwanted attention Darknest wishes to avoid.

• No Religious Threads - It would seem even when civil these threads cause nothing but rage and anger. As such these discussions are now off limits.

• No MLP (My Little Pony) Discussion/Threads - Due to the clashing between either side of the fandom (those that love and those that hate the show/fanbase) there is to be no discussion on MLP at all. I've noticed a horrible trend from the fandom too that I would like to keep off of Darknest, and the fact that some of the more verbal of the fans tend to rub a lot of people the wrong way.

• No Elin (from the game TERA) Discussion/Threads - Due to the moderately sexualized lolicon nature of the race, they have been banned from Darknest. Read here for more info!

• No Means No - If you're looking for (E)RP and replying to someone's ad, and they decline you, do not push. If you randomly PM someone on the forums or the chat that doesn't have a classified ad up then they are not looking for (E)RP. These are considered harassment!

• No Attempting to smartass your way around these rules.

Signature and Avatar Rules

• Signatures can't be more than 500 pixels wide by 120 pixels tall and only ONE image.

• You cannot have .gif signatures, thus they can’t be animated.

• Avatars can be max size of 150*150 pixels and can be animated.
